Enterprise Credit Union successfully held its first-ever virtual AGM, which took place on Thursday 21st January 2021, allowing members to attend and participate from the safety of their own homes.

The AGM was hosted by GoToWebinar, with the help of ABCUL’s very own Jackie Littlewood and conducted by Chair of the Board, Tony Denny.

Commenting at the AGM, Tony said: “This year has been extraordinarily challenging in a whole range of areas, through all the loyalty and support of the members, Enterprise Credit Union has been able to keep functioning, providing an essential service throughout. This credit union has made a big difference to the communities we serve, in one of the most challenging times possible.”

Despite the challenges, Enterprise has continued to deliver vital services to over 23,000 members. Since the first lockdown in March 2020, they have welcomed over 2,000 new members, issued over 17 million in loans, helped over 11,000 families and donated over £6,000 to local community groups. In addition to this, the credit union launched the Response Loan, designed to offer further support to members and provide a lifeline for so many families struggling with the financial impact of coronavirus.

Other highlights of the 2019-20 financial year include, the launch of the Enterprise Credit Union mobile app, which was rolled out in November and now has over 1,000 regular users.

Approved at the AGM, was a spectacular dividend of 2%, totalling to over £366,000, Tony reflected: “We are absolutely delighted to give this return back to our members, which reflects what has been an outstanding year, even in these challenging times.”
