On Friday 17th November, we gathered at the St Aidan’s Parish Centre Club in Huyton for Enterprise Credit Union’s 35th Annual General Meeting.
We were the first credit union to live stream our AGM via our mobile app
Chaired by Tony Denny, this event was truly momentous, bringing together over 70 members in person and a staggering 1,100+ virtually via our mobile app, making it our most attended AGM to date and marking it a meaningful celebration of your support and our financial accomplishments.
The AGM kicked off with a warm welcome from Tony Denny, reflecting on the significance of reaching our 35-year milestone and acknowledging the commendable journey we’ve had together.
“We’re here for the long haul for everyone, with £40 million in assets and 23,000 members. We’re supporting families and enhancing our communities’ financial capabilities. Whether you describe it as moving through the gears or climbing the ranks, it’s frequently an enabler to financial success, and that’s what it’s all about.” – Tony Denny
We were delighted to welcome guest speaker, local author Mark Campbell, who announced during the AGM that we will feature in his upcoming book ‘What A Difference It All Makes.’ He also invites you, our members, to share your stories, which could be featured in this exciting project. If you would like to contribute, please click here and complete the contact form.
Our biggest dividend to date was approved, worth over £1 MILLION
A significant highlight emerged as you, our members, unanimously approved a substantial 3.5% dividend totalling over £1 MILLION, that marked our biggest dividend to date and added to the celebratory spirit of our 35th year – the dividend was successfully applied to all eligible accounts on Monday 20th November.
The AGM also featured the introduction of a brand-new product, the ‘Member Death Benefit’ program. Set to launch in January 2024, this initiative aims to provide financial assistance to the loved ones of deceased members, alleviating the burden of funeral expenses.
John Delaney was presented with the Jacky Alker Award
The event included the presentation of a special award. Since 2018, we have been presenting the inaugural Jacky Alker Award to recognise the effort and sheer commitment shown by our volunteers during their time at ECU. This year’s recipient was John Delaney, acknowledged for his pivotal role in founding the credit union. John is a true stalwart and dedicated his time, and efforts to register the credit union and gather volunteers in the area.
As an expression of our appreciation for both in-person and online attendees, we organised a prize draw for a £100 supermarket voucher. The winner announced during the AGM, Lydia Davies, also received an additional £100 to donate to a local community group. Lydia chose The Drive L14 Community Hub as the deserving recipient of this contribution.
The live stream through our mobile app showcased our dedication to leveraging modern technology for an enhanced member experience. A special thank you goes to Declan McGallagly from CU Apps for enabling us to live stream the AGM so seamlessly.
Thank you for reading and for your ongoing support. We’re excited about more growth, success, and achievements together in the coming years.
